As many of you know, baking delicious cakes and pies is a true family tradition handed down for generations from the women in my family. But you might just be wondering about the men folk.
Long before there was special baking in the kitchen, there was a different kind of cooking going on in the barn. It was the cooking of corn mash in a copper still. This was a way of life for many men in Southern families and quite competitive too.
Now I'm not saying MY family partook in this activity. But my daddy has certainly been the recipient of such tradition over the years. These gentlemen were some rough yet colorful characters. The prized corn liquor they gifted daddy was smooth and crystal clear and perfect for swiggin'!
Tradition #1 (baking) + Tradition #2 (moonshine) = Moonshine Cakes
Call it the best of both worlds. Coming SUMMER 2016
